New History, President Obama Select Woman to Lead US Combat Troops : general lori robinson


President Barack Obama nominated the first woman who will hold the position of Head of US combat troops. general lori robinson

  US Defense Secretary Ash Carter, Friday (03/18/2016) local time, said Obama's choice became the first milestone in the women enter the US combat troops to be opened this year. Women are meant Obama was General Lori Robinson, who will hold the position of the Chief Command of the northern region, including the Chief of the Air Defense Command northern region. 

If Obama's choice approved by the Senate, Robinson will be the seventh commander who heads the Colorado-based command center that it is. As proclaimed by the Associated Press, at this time, Robinson held positions as Commander of the Pacific Air Force. 

 Command northern part is formed after the terrorist attacks on the US on September 11, 2011 ago. Komandio task is to maintain and improve the security of the region, as well as provide support during a national disaster. Robinson will replace Admiral William Gortney old officials who retire. Secretary of Defense Carter also explained, in addition to Robinson, President Obama was nominated Gen. 

Vincent Brooks to be Commander of U.S. Forces Korea. Brooks is currently serving in the US armed forces command of the Pacific region. Selection Brooks was still awaiting approval by the Senate.
