News / International Britain and France Attempting to Block Migrants arriving Eurotunnel

Britain and France, Sunday (08/02/2015), said, "top priority" they are blocking a large flow of thousands of migrants who will go to the UK via the Eurotunnel, or undersea tunnel connecting the two countries. In a joint statement released by the British and French newspapers,

British Home Secretary Theresa May and the French counterpart, Bernard Cazeneuve, urged member countries to other EU and the international community to help curb the flow of refugees from Africa to Europe.

"Our country is not as rich as they imagine," they said. The two officials said, thousands of migrants who try to enter from Calais, France, by train or trucks to the UK in recent weeks often use these lines.

They first landed in Italy and Greece after wading through the Mediterranean by ship from Africa. Theresa May and Bernard Cazeneuve said, this crisis will not be dealt with immigration policy loosening, but by "reducing the number of migrants crossing to Europe from Africa.

" At least 10 migrants died while trying to go to England from France. Britain and France said it was tightening security at the gateway to the French Eurotunnel, increasing the number of police and private security guards, as well as adding fencing and detectors of infrared light and spotlights.
