Head of the religious police in Saudi Arabia condemned the rise of social media such as Twitter users in the country.
Sheikh Abdul-Latif al-Sheikh told Saudis that using Twitter will lose both in this world and in the hereafter.
This is not the first time Al-Sheikh throw statement about Twitter. At the end of March, in the presence of Saudi clerics he referred to Twitter as a medium to spread messages that are not true.
On the same day at the Mecca mosque imam says citizens are entitled to freedom of expression, but it must be done carefully to protect the integrity and authority of the state.
This statement is seen as a gesture of concern among officials about the use of Twitter by Saudi citizens to discuss political, social, and religious sensitivity.
In Arab countries, among others, used Twitter to rally support and coordinate the movement as the political upheaval.
But many local governments in the region who use Twitter as a means of communication with the public. Saudi is believed to be one with the rate of increase of the biggest Twitter user in the world.
