70 Year Life Without Eating and Drinking???

Indian military scientists are studying a 82-year man who claimed to have no food or drink for 70 years.

Prahlad Jani, the old man, now placed in isolation at a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gurjarat. Telegraph, Thursday (29/04/2010), reported, in which he closely monitored by the Indian defense research organization, who believes that he may have a special quality that helped him survive.

He has spent six day without food or water under strict observation and the doctors said his body had not shown any adverse effects caused by starvation or dehydration.

Jani, who claims to have left home at age seven years and live as a wandering sadhu or holy man in Rajasthan, is considered breatharian can live with doing "spiritual asceticism." He believed, he sustained a god who pours a "panacea" through a hole in the roof of his mouth. That his confession had supported an Indian doctor who specializes in studies of people who claim to have supernatural abilities, but he also recognized a number of other people not only see it as a "swindler from the village."

Indian Defence Research Development Organisation, the scientists developed a propeller plane, inter-continental ballistic missiles, and new types of bombs, believed that Jani could teach them to help the soldiers survive longer without food, or to hold out to disaster victims help arrived.

"If the claim is proven, then it will be a breakthrough in medical science," said Dr G Ilavazhagan, Director of Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences. "We will be able to help save the lives of human beings affected by a natural disaster, was at altitude, or sea travel and the various conditions of extreme nature and humanity. We can educate people about the techniques of living in harsh conditions with only a little food and water or none at all, "he explained.

So far, Jani seemed to be examined carefully. He does not eat or drink any liquid in six days, yet also urinate and defecate during this time. He remains fit and healthy and showed no signs of sluggishness. The doctor will continue to observe him for 15 days, a time period that they hope will see a number of muscle fatigue, serious dehydration, weight loss, and fatigue that followed the failure of the organ.

In India, it is common for the Jain and Hindu men to fast, sometimes for eight days more, without any adverse effects, which are part of their rituals. Most people can not live without food for 50 days. Based on the record, the longest hunger strike for 74 days never happened.

According to Dr. Sudhir Shah, a doctor who examined Jani in the year 2003, he survived without food or water for ten days with the condition of the urine seems to be reabsorbed by the body after forming in his bladder. Doubts about the claim is directed at weight loss after Jani slightly down at the end of the trial.
