Yemen Reject U.S. intervention in Hand Handle Terrorism

Successfully capture suspected leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), Mohammed Ahmed al-Hanaq, Yemeni government does not create complacency.

Yesterday (7 / 1), hunting militants operating in the northern tip of Arab Affairs continued and still continue without the help of the United States (U.S.).

The absence of Uncle Sam's Military Affairs in the Yemeni anti-terror mission was not without purpose. Firmly, Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Rashed Al-Aleemi stated that his government does not require U.S. intervention. "Intervention in any form or direct action (military) will only strengthen the U.S. Al-Qaeda network, not weaken it," said deputy PM of the defense and security, as reported by Agence France-Presse.

Yemen, Aleemi asserted, did not want to become the next Afghanistan or Pakistan. Since the U.S. invaded pascatragedi 9 / 11 in 2001 and then, two neighboring countries were still not able to escape the trap of a global terror war. Until now too, the government of two U.S. allies were never stopped reap backlash from the international terrorist network.

Reflecting on the experience of Afghanistan and Pakistan, Yemen and then decided not to involve Washington. "Our decision is very clear. We will fight and hunt for Al Qaeda group with the power of our own troops," the senior official said at a news conference in Sanaa city. That means more Aleemi, Yemen will also be refused assistance or intervention of other parties who are not U.S..

Previously, Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi also expressed the same attitude. In an interview with CNN, he confirmed that Yemen does not require the United States. "I think, we will not allow (U.S. intervention). In addition, we believe that the U.S. was enough to learn from Iraq or Afghanistan and other locations that direct intervention only leads to defeat," he explained.

However, Qirbil claimed that Yemen will continue to accept U.S. anti-terror partners. Only, not as a supplier of troops. "We will welcome with open arms, U.S. forces are willing to provide training (military) and the intelligence and logistical support. Not in another capacity," he said to the Associated Press.

According to Qirbil, Yemeni society is still very sensitive to the existence of foreign troops on its territory. Therefore, in order to avoid conflicts in society, the government of President Ali Abdullah Saleh chose not to bring foreign troops.
