German federal election there were eight days away. Until yesterday (18 / 9), the polls are still siding with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Opportunity Merkel and her party, the German Christian Democratic Union (CDU), to form a coalition with a new partner, the Free Democratic Party (FDP), also became large.
Currently the CDU and the Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU) which share power in parliament and both Merkel-led coalition with the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). But, apparently, the grand coalition will not last much longer. That happens if the 27 September election will give results in accordance with the projected number of institutions poll.
"Merkel Conservative Party got 36 percent support. Meanwhile, the FDP will get 13 percent," explained the German Election Research Institute (FGW) to the ZDF television station yesterday.
If combined, the two parties are getting 49 percent support. That's higher than the combined votes of three other major parties. Namely, SPD, Green Party, and Die Linke, or the Left Party.
Compared to vote on this poll last week, the acquisition was running SPD Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier as Merkel competitors increased two points.
