Obama flipped key states such as Virginia, Ohio and Florida into the Democratic column, cementing his victory and dealing a blow to the red state-blue state mentality.

Tonight saw history being made in this country as we elected our first African-American president.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown it has been said of leaders. Tonight, his plate got very full. But for the moment, let us who choose to bask in this historic moment and know that in America, anything is possible. We have broken through a barrier that was never thought possible and we shall wake up tomorrow once again a United States of America. The campaign is over, but the work has yet to begin.
