After the deadly attacks in the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo offices, Paris, soerang journalist Hélène Hofman spoke with a former employee of the magazine, Caroline Fourest.
The French journalist said, Charlie Hebdo next issue still to be published next week.
Former journalist Charlie Hebdo, Caroline Fourest, said that the deadly terrorist attacks will not silence free speech in French. A total of 12 people, including eight former colleague Caroline, was killed when two armed men stormed the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Wednesday (01/07/2015) morning local time.
"Every time we meet, we try to throw jokes and jokes about stupid people who triggered to violence because it is threatened by a simple cartoon. They can continue to feel threatened because there will still be a lot of cartoons," said Caroline.
He added, "We all, the journalist who survived and their former colleagues, decided that tomorrow we will hold a meeting to publish the next edition of Charlie Hebdo as impossible, even if they kill 10 of us, not the magazine will be published next week."
Caroline said, censorship and fear is a response that is totally wrong.
"This is what the terrorists want. They know that this is the way. You just have to kill a few people in each country, which is the easiest thing in the world to do, "he said.
"To have a powerful weapon and kill the guy is really easy. You do not have the talent to do it. You need talent to be a cartoonist. You need talent to be a journalist," he continued.
Caroline worked for the newspaper in 2011, when the different offices of Charlie Hebdo was bombed after loading the Prophet Mohammed as their chief editor.
He paid tribute to former colleagues and noted that many of them live under police protection for years because they do not want to compromise.
"A lot of my friends who died today are people who are very good, very funny, and very brave, because they know that they must continue to smile and make others smile when defending the freedom of the press," he said.
"Many of my colleagues were under police protection for years.
Their lives are turned upside down after the Muhammad cartoon case. They deal with it. There is no choice when you're a journalist, and you want to be free, and you refuse to be silenced simply because a stupid man abusers want you silent, "he added.
